Introduce your little ones to the wonderful world of yoga with our engaging Kindergarten Yoga Program! Designed specifically for young children, this program combines fun movement, imaginative play, and mindfulness techniques to promote physical health and emotional well-being. Each class includes age-appropriate yoga poses, interactive games, and storytelling that helps develop flexibility, balance, and strength while nurturing creativity and self-expression. Through playful activities, children will learn essential skills such as focus, relaxation, and cooperation, all in a supportive and joyful environment. Join us as we embark on a journey of discovery, helping our kindergarteners build a strong foundation for a healthy lifestyle and a positive mindset!

Class Structure

Class Length: 20-45 minutes

Introduction: Theme, class structure and expectations are introduced.

Breath Work: Using time to connect the class together, we take deep all together. We learn about belly breathing.

Warmup: Engaging full body warmup.

Poses & Games: During this portion, movement relating to class theme are executed as well as any related yoga related games are played during this time.

Cool Down: Seated and reclined poses to calm the class before moving onto the next activity.

Savasana & Meditation: Children are asked to sit and listen to the music that is playing or use visuals for 60 seconds to begin incorporating mediation and self regulation techniques.

Goodbye: Final encouraging words are said, mats are cleaned up, Goodbye until next time.

  • Yoga provides many benefits to children and their development. Yoga improves physical wellness by increasing strength and flexibility. Children will grow body awareness and coordination through movements. They also are introduce to stress reduction tools early in life, increasing mindfulness and improve focus. Class also build relationships with peers building a close community.

  • Making children's yoga class fun involves incorporating engaging activities, storytelling, music, and playfulness. Use of story-based yoga sequences allow children to use their imagination and creativity. The program integrate fun yoga poses and encourages kids to make sounds or act out specific movements. Additionally, interactive games like yoga-inspired Simon Says keep children interested and active.

Theme

Animals: Act like animals from around the world using our bodies to put us in shapes that resemble the animal, we vocalize the sound of animals and use fun animals themed deep breathing practices.

Kindness/Friendship: Age appropriate affirmations like “I like to share” & “I am a good friend” are used while in basic yoga poses to introduce positive affirmation.

ABC & Shapes: Airplane, Bumble Bee, Cat, Downward Dog. Starting at the beginning we go through the whole alphabet. Using our bodies to try to create shapes like squares, circles and triangles.

Self Love: A book is read about being unique and different, then the class use the affirmation that were in the book. Age appropriate for children an encourages uniqueness at a young age.
